Kagan’s Fortune Grew by 40% While She Was Solicitor General

Smiling all the way to the bank

Smiling all the way to the bank

Elena Kagan, Obama’s High Court nominee, massively increased her net worth while in office as BHO’s Solicitor General over the past 12 months.

Despite taking a pay cut from $450k as dean of HLS to $160 as SG, her personal fortune is now at $1,762,519, up 40% from last year.

Generally, people don’t make this much money in one year being a full-time SG with an average salary, but I suppose Kagan is special. Or, perhaps, her asset manager is not getting the credit he deserves.

It is time, however, for another juicy scandal.

She’s Gay Too?!

It appears Elena Kagan, Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, might be gay. Well, it’s high time we had a lesbian on the High Court. Can we get live feeds online?

Obama Nominates Big Donor to Supreme Court

What can I say, but it seems too obvious that Obama’s latest High Court nominee is a die-hard Democrat and a staunch Obamamaniac. Her political contributions would put even Michele Obama to shame:

Recipient Amount
Barack Obama $6,600
John Kerry $1,500
Al Gore $1,000
Democratic National Committee $1,000
Hillary Clinton $750
Judith Feder $500
Ira S. Shapiro $450
Rahm Emanuel $250
Jon Paul Jennings $250
Total $12,300

Can the current administration even try to be a little less partisan?

Alito Rebuts Obama, Or So They Say, But Rightly So

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito Jr. had his own “you lie” moment last night during Obama’s criticism of the Supreme Court decision on restrictions on corporations during elections…

Alito responded to this section in Obama’s speech:

With all due deference to separation of powers, last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests –- including foreign corporations –- to spend without limit in our elections.  (Applause.)  I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.  (Applause.)  They should be decided by the American people.  And I’d urge Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to correct some of these problems.

If Obama can be directly disrespectful towards the Supreme Court, with several justices in attendance, with his own uninformed opinions, I don’t see why Alito can’t express his own opinion.

Bienvenido Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor

What a terrible day in the history of the United States Supreme Court when a justice is appointed to its bench solely on the basis of her gender and race.

Shame on the Republicans who voted for her.

Sotomayor Rejected and Rebuffed by Supreme Court (or Something Like That)

Rejected! Courtesy, the Economist

Rejected! Courtesy, the Economist

Right up Sotomayor’s behind, the current justices of the Supreme Court have over-ruled her. Ouch  – what a rebuff! Nice start, Sonia – you haven’t even been promoted and you are already creating controversy within the High Court.

I just love it – her future colleagues sided with the firemen, including one Hispanic, in opposition to her, only today:

The city’s action in discarding the tests violated Title VII… the city’s fundamental arguments were “blatantly contradicted by the record.

Monday’s decision in Ricci v. DeStefano … was one of the most closely watched discrimination cases in years … because President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, had sided with the city and against the firefighters as a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
