Awww: Indonesian Palm Oil Giant Breaks Greenpeace’s Heart

Not Negotiating with Terrorists, But For How Much Longers?

Not Negotiating with Terrorists, But For How Much Longer?

It has just come to my attention that Greenpeace might need a little something to help it get over the reality that no rational corporate entity will support its radical, environmental agenda unless there’s some benefit in it for the company.

Sinar Mas, an Indonesian firm specializing in palm oil production, could not justify following Greenpeace’s directives without harm to its shareholders and employees. It has been flipping off environmentalists for the past several months and most recently:

Activists from the environmental group said they had discovered recently that a Sinar Mas subsidiary, PT BAT, was still clearing rainforest near a habitat of orangutans, an endangered species, in Central Kalimantan.

Two weeks ago, Greenpeace unveiled what it said was evidence that another Sinar Mas subsidiary, PT ALM, was “destroying deep peatland and high conservation value forest” in West Kalimantan.

Sinar Mas should be idolized for the way it is completely disregarding these environmental terrorists’ brainwashed agendas.

Polar Bears: Children of Global Warming

He's done it before

He's done it before

So, global warming might actually have led to the evolution of polar bears. And, apparently:

…polar bears have already survived a global warming that affected the northern hemisphere from 130,000 to 115,000 years ago, when the Greenland ice sheet and the Arctic ice cap were smaller than now.

Global warming zombies, however, had to spin the story:

Professor Chris Stringer, of the Natural History Museum in London, said: ‘Living through a warm period back then does not mean polar bears are resilient to climate change now.’

Right.

U.S. Climate Action Partnership: 3 Down, Few More To Go

The End is Nigh?

The End is Nigh?

The United States Climate Action Partnership, an organization created to appease climate change fanatics/liberals, is slowly coming apart at the seams.

The WSJ is reporting that BP, ConocoPhilips and Caterpillar have quit the group, because:

USCAP was focused on getting a climate-change bill passed, whereas [the quitters are] increasingly concerned with what the details of such a bill would be.

… USCAP was starting to do more and more on trying to get a bill out without trying to work as much on the substance of it.

USCAP seems to be following the lead of its non-profit members – NRDC, The Nature Conservancy and others – and focusing on the “environmentally effective” and “fair climate change program” agendas of its mission statement rather than the “economically sustainable” part.

Now that Democratic ship is slowly sinking, it is hardly surprising that the rats are deserting it in droves.

India Rebuffs Obama’s Enviro-Crazy Agenda

India’s position, let me be clear, is that we are simply not in the position to take legally binding emissions targets

So says India’s Environmental Minister Jairam Ramesh.

Right on.

Nobody Wants to Pay for Al Gore’s Global Warming; Jobs More Important

Jobs, Not the Bear

Jobs, Not the Bear

According to the latest Rasmussen polls:

… 56% of Americans say they are not willing to pay more in taxes and utility costs to generate cleaner energy and fight global warming.

Senate: Protect Us From Obama’s EnviroCrazy Agenda

Doesn't Need or Want Obama

Doesn't Need or Want Obama

Obama mama’s latest “change” includes a bill that mandates:

  • cut emissions by 17% below the level in 2005 by 2020, then by 83% by 2050
  • national limits and requires polluters to acquire emissions permits
  • Permits are either free (85%) or bought at auction (15%)
  • Permits can be traded, allowing major polluters to offset surplus emissions

At what cost?! Millions of jobs lost? Implicit and explicit taxes raised on every American? Loss of American competitiveness?

Will the Senate please save us from this absolute abomination?

Republicans in the Senate – you’d better filibuster this bitch to purgatory. McCain, Collins, Snowe – this may be your last chance to show us you really are Republicans.

Ahh, so we are not going to sink after all…

The BBC is now reporting that a scientific team led by Jonathan Bamber has found that melting ice in the Antarctic may lead to 3.3m rise in sea level, about half of what all doomsayers have been claiming all this time and scaring the hell out of us. Of course, this is still very bad apparently:

“the rise would still pose a serious threat to major coastal cities, such as New York…A sea level rise of just 1.5m would displace 17 million people in Bangladesh alone… “

Now, the question really is whether human activity has caused this melting. Or, are 100,000 year glacial cycles to blame?

Apparently, we are currently near a peak of a glacial cycle, during which glaciers are supposed to melt to some extent. Even within each glacial cycle, there is expected to be immense variation. Al Gore’s buddies don’t want us to talk about the Little Ice Age in Europe only a 150 years ago. We’ve been warming up since then.

And, apparently, we may begun cooling again. 2008 was the coldest year since 2000 and 2009, so far, doesn’t seem to be too much warmer.
