Gay Judge Overturns Gay Marriage Ban
9:53 am, August 5th, 2010 on Constitution, Gay Marriage
If the judge in your coke smuggling case is a coke-head himself, wouldn’t that be the perfect situation?
Federal Judge Vaughn R. Walker who overturned Prop 8 in California is gay. Appointed by the great George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, whose record of judicial appointments is quite superb (remember O’Connor, Souter, Kennedy?), Walker has a long and committed record to promoting gay rights.
This was only expected.
School Officials Can’t Strip Search Children
5:50 pm, June 25th, 2009 on Constitution
The High Court has issued an 8-1 ruling right up the behinds of the teachers’ unions. I am glad somebody is standing up to those self-righteous bastards.
School officials cannot, and I re-iterate, they cannot strip search any student regardless of the reason:
The officials in Safford, Ariz., would have been justified in 2003 had they limited their search to the backpack and outer clothing of Savana Redding, who was in the eighth grade at the time, the court ruled. But in searching her undergarments, they went too far and violated her Fourth Amendment privacy rights
The Constitution is there for a reason and thank God for it. Otherwise, we’d be living in a socialist utopia run by the teachers’ unions by now.
