One of my favorite news stories from today is that of a bar in Marietta, Georgia, putting up the following sign:

The vast majority of single parent households in the U.S. and especially in Georgia (63%) are headed by black women. Most welfare single-parent households are also black. Black women, apparently, just don’t want to marry but want the kids anyway, presumably for the welfare hand-outs and the child support.
It is a tragedy that somebody has to put up a sign to this effect, but it is even more tragic that the message is true, even if it may be insensitive or even racist.
