Doper Marion Jones Set to Make Comeback

Jones with Shock

Jones with Shock

Sprinter Marion Jones, who was stripped of her Olympic gold and other medals because of doping, has been recruited by WNBA’s Tulsa Shock.

The Shock, which fled Detroit last year much like most of the city’s population, is still suffering from a lack of star power and hopes to strike gold with Jones.

Let’s hope they don’t keep a supply of “clear” nearby.

Activist Judge Fights on Behalf on ACORN

Center: Judge Nina Gershon at Yale event

Center: Judge Nina Gershon at Yale event

ACORN has been and is being investigated for all kinds of fraudulent activities – including advising clients on whorehouse best practices – and was rightly barred by the Congress from receiving any funds.

Yet, activist judge Nina Gershon of New York had already decided that:

[it is] unconstitutional that Congress tried to cut funding to the activist group ACORN

She has now:

rejected a government request to change her mind and has ordered government agencies to make it clear the funding isn’t blocked.

Gershon was appointed by Bill Clinton in 1996 showing us just why all Democrat judicial appointments need to be blocked.

Michael Moore Wants a Job

The Crazy

The Crazy

Michael Moore has written to President Obama that he wants to replace Rahm Emanuel to “clean up the mess that’s been created around” the President. His recent crap hasn’t been faring well at the box office.

So, I suppose he’s just looking for something to do other than making pathetic and flop movies.

DDoS Attacks Against tGO

The server that hosts the Global Observatory has been under distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks since around noon Monday, which explains why the site has either been down entirely or extremely slow over the past couple of days.

Last night, we undertook certain measures to mitigate the effects of the DDoS attacks, but the server is still under extreme strain. The site is presently up and running, but painfully slow at times. The last 2 articles were supposed to posted earlier yesterday but are only showing up today.

The next couple of days will show whether DDoS attacks have been circumvented by our current measures or if we have to do anything else.

Lake Placid 3D Live in Maine Right Now

Gotta Dodge This Viper

Gotta Dodge This Viper

If you cared at all for the original Lake Placid, there’s a sequel going on right now in Maine. Some tool released his pet Gaboon viper on a trail in Maine. The viper is perhaps one of the most venomous snakes in the world, although not very aggressive.

Owning such a dangerous animal is already illegal in Maine. The guy who released the snake in a public place should be given first hand experience of its fangs and poison – that’ll teach him.

Porn Domain Should Be Approved

Love on the net

Love on the net

The ICANN board is again considering approving the dot.xxx domain name for adult websites. The last time, the idea was dropped because American conservative groups nixed it. Now, what should be done in addition to approving the porn domain is enabling parental control filtering by domain extensions, and adult websites should be required to move to the new domain.

Online sex and porn addiction is an epidemic that has not spared our kids. Currently, it is virtually impossible to filter all adult content. All we can do is block individual sites or use the voluntary ICRA rating system. The former is inefficient as there are literally millions of sites that can be found using your friendly neighborhood google or bing. The latter is strictly voluntary and very few sites adhere to it. There are the usual “Over 18″ warnings but those easy enough to fake.

An internet porn domain, along with the necessary reforms to restrict adult content to it, should be something conservatives should wholeheartedly support.

Obama = Bush, Says the ACLU

Obama’s latest move to try KSM in military tribunals, instead of criminal courts, is infuriating the left to such an extent that the ACLU published the following full-page ad in the NYT.

aclu_ad_monster_397x224

Obama is slowly coming to the painful realization that a lot of what the Bush administration did in matters of national security (military tribunals, Gitmo, etc.) was due to expediency given the tough circumstances, rather than a hatred for constitutional rights and freedoms. The left can’t help feel betrayed by its poster boy.

Young ‘Uns Still Obsessed with Obama

It seems that the 18-29 crowd can’t get over its obsession with Barack Obama. While approval ratings from other age groups are somewhat consistent with previous presidencies, 66% of young ‘uns still like Obama, according to a recent Gallup poll.

gallups

They’re still gulping down the Kool-Aid by the gallons. This despite the fact that unemployment and underemployment account for a fifth of the labor force more than a year since BHO took office.

2 More Gay Sex Scandal Involving “Conservatives”

The Yank and the Catholic

The Republican and the Catholic

The Catholic Church has hardly been able to stay out of sex scandals and the GOP is racing to keep up.

This time around, a senior member of the Pope’s inner circle and an important adviser to the Vatican was caught engaging in homosexual activities, including haggling with a choir boy “over the specific physical details of men he wanted brought to him.” This guy is also accused of corruption.

Across the Atlantic, a Republican legislator in California, an anti-gay crusader, was arrested for a DUI shortly after leaving a gay club.

If they enjoy their indulgences, that’s their business. They should, however, stop pretending to be all pious and righteous.

The Armenian Genocide: Get Over It!

The Foreign Relations Committee of the U.S. Senate voted today to classify the 1915 massacre of Armenians by the Ottomans as genocide, despite strenuous objections from the White House. The result? Turkey has immediately withdrawn its ambassador to Washington.

At a time when American relations are already strained with Middle Eastern nations and with the Muslim world in general, it hardly makes any sense to rile up the only Muslim democracy in the region and a long-time U.S. ally.

From the perspective of U.S. interests in the region, Armenia hardly provides any benefit at all. Read on »

Pervez Musharraf Speaking in Bellevue Amidst Protests (and Hypocrisy)

Mushy

Mushy

Pervez Musharraf, the former President of Pakistan who now earns six to seven figures for his lectures, is coming to Bellevue, Washington, on March 14th.

The organization that is sponsoring him claims:

We are a local chapter in Seattle, Washington; consisting of local Ex-Pat Pakistanis who support the democratic institutions within Pakistan by offering our help in several areas that will promote the on going transition that has been occuring in Pakistan for a few years now.

We are an apolitical organization that is committed to support any leader or personality from Pakistan belonging to any political party (or not) who is genuinely committed to help flourish and promote democratic values in the country.

Musharraf, of course, is the very embodiment of democracy. This is the man who toppled a democratically elected government and stalled democratic reforms for many years in the name of national security, but, he was doing it all merely to promote “democratic values.”

(Protests after the jump)

Floundering Ole Miss Recruits Star Wars’ Admiral Ackbar

Ackbar

Ackbar

The University of Mississippi, a tier-3 university according to U.S. News & World Report and not rising up, lost its old mascot, Colonel Reb, in 2006 when the administration discontinued it because of its perceived racist image.

Students at Ole Miss have now decided to recruit Admiral Ackbar to help them with their image issues. They have even set up a sophomoric website to support their cause.

Ackbar is a fictional character from Geoge Lucas’ renowned series and his most famous, and perhaps the only, lines in the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi were the following:

Lando Calrissian: Break off the attack! The shield is still up!
Wedge Antilles: I get no reading. Are you sure?
Lando Calrissian: Pull up! All craft, pull up!
Admiral Ackbar: Take evasive action! Green group, stick close to holding section MV-7!
Mon Calamari: Admiral! We have enemy ships in sector 47!
Admiral Ackbar: It’s a trap!

Apparently, he’s good at detecting traps. Perhaps the students want to warn prospies … Don’t enroll at Ole Mis, it’s a trap to take away your money and graduate you still uneducated!

Polar Bears: Children of Global Warming

He's done it before

He's done it before

So, global warming might actually have led to the evolution of polar bears. And, apparently:

…polar bears have already survived a global warming that affected the northern hemisphere from 130,000 to 115,000 years ago, when the Greenland ice sheet and the Arctic ice cap were smaller than now.

Global warming zombies, however, had to spin the story:

Professor Chris Stringer, of the Natural History Museum in London, said: ‘Living through a warm period back then does not mean polar bears are resilient to climate change now.’

Right.

Farrakhan: America Is Doomed

Blame it on the Jews

Blame it on the Jews

Of all the crazy people in the world, perhaps the worst is somebody like Louis Farrakhan who still commands a following in the Nation of Islam. Of course, without Farrakhan, we’d one have less comedian in the world.

He now claims:

It’s not an accident that a great earthquake took place in Chile … It was a precipitate of what I have to tell you today of what’s coming to America. You will not escape.

I will speak to the kings and rulers of the world. I will speak to the pope and the religious leaders because you have to know that your time has come … I desire to guide you and warn you of things that are coming that you must try to prepare yourselves for because we are absolutely living in the change of worlds.

He blamed everything else on the Jews.

And, Farrakhan would know. He must’ve heard it from Yakub straight outta Patmos.
