A federal court in San Fran has ruled “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance does not violate the constitution, in another blow for atheist Michael Newdow. His previous attempt to discontinue pledge recital in schools was dismissed by the Supreme Court on a technicality.
The judge opined:
The Pledge of Allegiance serves to unite our vast nation through the proud recitation of some of the ideals upon which our Republic was founded
The same court had previously ruled in Newdow’s favor.
Newdow should try to channel his energies towards more useful activities, such as discovering God.
