Ahmadinejad Declares Fourth Reich; New Persian Empire Forthcoming

Soon after the authorities declared Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the official winner of Iran’s presidential election on Saturday afternoon, the Iranian President announced the creation of the Fourth Reich and his desire to re-establish a new Persian Empire.

“Mein Fuhrer Adolf Hitler is my personal hero. He killed 5 million Jews during his Third Reich. I can do better. Israel now has a population of 7 million Jews. I can make Hitler proud by killing them all and ridding this Earth of the Jewish scourge. I hereby declare the establishment of the Fourth Reich with its capital in Shiraz. I hereby declare myself the Fuhrer of Iran,” Ahmadinejad said during a press conference held in Shiraz Saturday evening.

Ahmadinejad alluded to the glories of the Persian Empire by mentioning that it once stretched from Libya in the West to China in the East. “I plan to spread my Reich from ocean to ocean. With the help of the great Iranian peoples, we shall once again rule the world and there shall be no Jewish or Sunni threat to challenge us,” said Ahmadinejad. He went to mention a list of states that had opposed Iran in the past and would face the brunt of his new military might, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the UAE.

Ahmadinejad also announced that the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, members of the Guardian Council and the Council of Experts were being placed under immediate house arrest until further notice. Members of the Iranian Parliament, the Majlis, who opposed him would also suffer a similar fate.

Ali Larijani, speaker of the Majlis pledged his support in a simultaneous press release. “President Ahmadinejad will lead us to glory,” said Larijani in a statement televised during the conference. Larijani stated that the Majlis would pass the necessary legislation to finalize Ahmedinejad’s status. Also present was Mir Hossein Mousavi, an erstwhile challenger to the President, who had been appointed Deputy Fuhrer by Ahmedinejad to reprise his role as head of government from the Iraq-Iran War. “Mir Hossein will be my trusted deputy protecting the interests of the Iranian peoples as he has done before,” Ahmadinejad praised Mousavi.

While Ahmadinejad refused to answer any questions from the press, his recently appointed spokesman, Hassan Negahi, obliged the journalists present at the conference. When asked what Iran would do about America, Negahi stated, “The Great Satan has no will. The Great Satan has no power to fight us. The Great Satan is already bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan. We shall make sure that Afghanistan and Iraq do not become part of his evil empire.” In response to a question about rioting in the streets, Negahi stated that “the people of Iran are rejoicing in the streets today.”

International reactions to the press conference have been mixed. An unnammed official at the State Department dismissed Ahmadinejad as a “delusional, power-hungry dictator” who had no real power to make any changes. A spokesman for the Pentagon said that the Department of Defense would closely analyze any threats to American interests and take necessary precautions. The Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, Binyamin Netanyahu, released a press conference warning Iran of severe reprisal in case of any aggression. “We are prepared to do anything to defend Israel,” said a spokesman.

In other international news, Arab news network Al-Jazeera released a tape, purportedly of Osama bin Laden, in which the deceptive Al-Qaida leader announced that he was tired of Ahmedinejad’s rhetoric. “How dare he make such a grandoise announcement. I will personally swoop down and kick his butt. Only I can make such statements,” said bin Laden.
